Is Boom the new Image!?! by Nick L.

For years, Image Comics dominated the Indy market.  So much so that it was almost a big three between Marvel, DC, and Image Comics.  They have always been a big deal,  from the first day Spawn came out, through big deal, world changing books like Saga and Walking Dead hitting the scene.  Image has always … Read more

TRANSFORMERS/BACK TO THE FUTURE #1     IDW COMICS

Sigh. Another cross title toy promotion. Unfortunately for crusty old reviewers like me, Cavan Scott’s story makes this more than expected. RISE OF ULTRAMAN #1     MARVEL COMICS This book has a little bit of everything for the Ultraman fan. Writers Kyle Higgins and Mat Groom obviously did their homework in researching the 1966 original series. And trust me cause I was watching it on a static-filled Channel 50 (or was it Channel 44 or Channel … Read more

About Death, Kings and Comics by JC…

There is an old adage that in comics death doesn’t really matter. Your favorite character has probably died, been reborn, been a zombified version of themselves, been cloned, been brainwashed to kill for the enemy or maybe even had their marriage erased by “the devil” at some point in the time you have been reading … Read more

ALIENS….by Kevin H.

In 1989, Dark Horse Comics began publishing their flagship (at the time) licensed title, ‘Aliens’. ‘Predator’ joined soon after.  Over the span of 30 plus years, these properties have fought against the idea that licensed comics are a quick money grab.  Quality creators, many of whom never got the credit they deserved because of where … Read more
