BATMAN & SCOOBY-DOO MYSTERIES #4     DC COMICS

Sholly Fisch picks up the gauntlet on this 4th issue featuring Dario Brizuela wonderful art! With Scooby and the Gang’s habit of unmasking villains, it was only a matter of time that they’d come up against Black Mask and the False Face Society! And with guest villains the Shark, The Fox, and the Vulture, the gang is mask pulling crazy. Good clean fun with a couple of in-jokes that will delight any Batman or Scooby-Doo fan. This one can be enjoyed by all ages. I give it an 8 out of 10 Grahams.

EXCITING COMICS #11     ANTARCTIC PRESS

Antarctic Press’s retooling of the classic Golden Age title continues strong with 3 continuing tales and 1 new feature. Meet Nothing Man, from the creative minds of N.S. Kane and John Rhodes, he just woke up naked, freezing, and having issues remembering things. And just exactly why are special forces troops hunting him? With John Rhodes on art duty, this is an interesting addition to the line up. Joining Catgirl, WeritasMan, and all the heroes and villains from Big House Blues! 4 solid stories for the price of 1 comic! How can you beat that? I give it an 8 out of 10 Grahams.

FLASH ANNUAL 2021     DC COMICS

This one is a rough one. Left on a cliffhanger from issue #771, we are reintroduced to the storyline from Heroes In Crisis. A storyline that I was not enthused with. And with last few issues of the series being really outstanding, I was not really happy to be losing an annual to this ending. The problem is that while the ending still feels rushed, Jeremy Adams managed to give an appropriate ending to the mini-series. And with the interactions between Barry Allen, Oliver Queen, and Mr. Terrific, this is a very good finale. Had Heroes in Crisis actually ended like this, it would not have the stink of failure all over it. So while I want to dislike this one, I can’t fault the creative team for tying up some loose ends and explaining away some bad story points from the past. I give it a 7 out of 10 Grahams.
