As the new year rolls around people tend to look for something new and different to read. Comics come out every week so there is always a ton of options, but if you are looking for a change here are a couple great recommendations!
Jujutsu Kaisen: This has sky rocketed as an amazing anime series but the manga gives you way more detail into this world. Yuji Itadori is a regular high school student until he discovers there is a darker side to reality, demons exist and there are people called Jujutsu Sorcerers who defeat these beings. Leaving nothing to the imagination when it comes to gore, this book is dark and intense and I recommend it to anyone who likes Full Metal Alchemist, Bleach or Fire Force.
Chainsaw Man: This manga is super fun and just plain awesome. There is a trend on all the hit manga currently releasing, and this follows it. Denji is a young kid who loses his father and with that is now charged with paying back his fathers’ debt. While contemplating how he is going to make ends meet he saves a dog, but this is no ordinary dog. Fusing with the dog allows him to become Chainsaw Man and to raise money takes odd jobs killing demons and becoming a Devil Hunter. 
Fire Force: This manga immediately hooked me! The world faced a catastrophe, burning it to ashes. Society rebuilds and the world tries to start again. But people start developing pyrokinetic abilities and some people spontaneously combust becoming fire demons in a sense. In comes The Fire Force, basically firefighting demon killers. Man, 2021 bringing on the demon books hard. Maybe it is a sign? (let’s hope not)
So just a few recommendations for you to check out! There is always a ton of awesome manga to read you just have to dive in, don’t be afraid to read backwards because experiencing some of these stories is something you will not regret!
