Top 5 FCBD books I am Looking Forward To By Nick L.

FCBD 2021 Enter The Slaughter #1

Enter the House of Slaughter:  I would expect this to easily be everyone’s top pick come FCBD.  Following up their monster hit Something is Killing the Children, James Tynion IV and Werther Dell-Edera venture further into the history of Erica Slaughter, the monster hunter of Archer’s Peak, as she is not the only member of the House of Slaughter…..  This is the FCBD preview you absolutely cannot miss!

FCBD 2021 Adventures Of Bailey School Kids #1

Adventures of Bailey School Kids:  This book just looks like too much fun!  The third graders of Bailey Elementary are quite a handful for any teacher, which has caused all the teachers to quit them.  But they have a new teacher who isn’t afraid: Mrs. Jeepers. Why is she so fearless?  She just may or may not be a vampire!  I just always loved stories like this growing up, fun all ages book about kids getting wrapped up in some spooky mystery.

FCBD 2021 Dungeon Is Back #1

Dungeon is Back:  This epic saga spoof of Dungeons & Dragons returns to bring you thrills and laughs aplenty!  Dungeons and dragons style stories and spoofs of all kinds have seemed to be all the rage lately, and this one looks like a lot of fun.  Sure to fall below the radar on FCBD with so many options, don’t overlook this one, as I think it will truly be a standout.  Fans of Adventure Time should take extra note to keep on the lookout.

FCBD 2021 Just Beyond Monstrosity #1

Just Beyond Monstrosity:  Continuing R.L. Stine’s series of Just Beyond stories, this one looks especially entertaining as it connects to old Hollywood studio movie monsters!  Ruthie and Ezra Dillon’s father and uncle have just bought an old Hollywood movie studio.  The family wants to restore it and start making spooky movies for a modern audience.  But the old monsters still residing there have other plans in mind for the family.  This tale is just right up my alley, as I love old timey horror stuff of all kinds.  I haven’t read too much of the Just Beyond books, but this is one I will definitely want to dive into.

FCBD 2021 Oni Press Summer Celebration #1

Oni Press Summer Celebration:  This one makes the list as it just has too many good things inside!  Four stories from 4 different Oni properties that are each well worth  read.  Enter the worlds of The Tea Dragon Tapestry, the Sprite and the Gardener, Jonna and the Impossible, and one of my personal favorites, Mooncakes!  A special treat for those with a hunger for delightful and intriguing tastes.  I always love some indie compilation books on free comic book day, and this is one of my very top choices.
