5 New Books to Jump Into by Nick L. – Graham Crackers Comics

5 New Books to Jump Into by Nick L.

How many times have you been in the comic shop thinking to yourself, “I would love to jump into this series, but its already on issue #33 (or #79, or #301)?  I wouldn’t know what’s going on at all!”  Well, there are new series’ starting all the time, that don’t require you to know years, or maybe decades of a character’s history.  Here are my top 5 new series that are only on their first couple of issues.

Brzrkr (W) Matt Kindt, Keanu Reeves (A) Ron Garney

Keanu Reeves is a half god, half man, all immortal badass who has spent centuries defeating all enemies in front of him.  Now working for the American government, he is sent into the worst areas to fight the battles no one else can.  But really this is just a comic of Keanu doing his John Wick thing: all out action and violence.  Only on issue #2, and with more prints of #1 on the way, Brzrkr is a comic you wont want to miss.  It’s also already set for a film adaptation, and I wonder who will play the main character…..

X-Men Legends (W) Fabian Nicieza, Louise Simonson, Walt Simonson (A) Brett Booth, Walt Simonson

What if you could go back in time to some of your favorite x-men eras and read more tales from past favorite writers and artists?  X-Men Legends continues stories from past creative teams, getting to tell more of the tales they always wanted to.  The first two issues brings us Fabian Nicieza and Brett Booth delving deeper into the history of Adam X, the third Summers brother! Issue #3 brings Walt and Louise Simonson back to an Apocalypse story from the early days of X-Factor!  Jump in now and see what other flashbacks they have in store for us.

Nocterra (W) Scott Snyder (A) Tony Daniel

Classic Batman writer and artist Scott Snyder and Tony Daniel team up for their own Image title.  It’s been ten years since the world has turned into an everlasting night that turns all living creatures into monsters.  Valentina Riggs ferries people and goods across the dangerous roads of this monstrous world.  Only on issue #3, now would be the time to jump into this awesome book before they disappear.

Robin (W) Joshua Williams (A) Gleb Melnikov

Only on issue #1, you should rush right out to your local Graham Crackers and get this issue before it sells out.  Damian learns of a deadly League of Lazarus tournament and thus sets out to win the tournament to prove that he is the greatest fighter in the DC Universe!  What new friends and enemies will Damian have to face in mortal combat?  Probably my top recommendation from this list.

Orphan & Five Beasts (A/A/CA) James Stokoe

If you see that this is a James Stokoe book and you know who that is, then that is all I need to say!  Stokoe is one of my absolute favorite artists, always packing every page with all the amazing art you can handle. When her master dies, adopted warrior “Orphan Mo”  must seek out and kill his five former disciples who are now threatening the land!  Issue #2 just came out last week, and just trust me when I tell you, if you see this book on the shelf, give a try!
