ETERNALS 50TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL    MARVEL COMICS

It’s hard to believe it’s been 50 years since I stood in front of the comic rack at my neighborhood drug store and scooped up a copy of Jack Kirby’s newest epic. Ironicly, I was not overly impressed at the time. Had a little to much Chariots of the Gods vibe to it. (That was a big deal at the time.) At the time, I didn’t think it would make it. Shows you how much I knew back then. With an all-star list of talent, we bypass most of the history of Ikaris and his kind and slip into a few untold tales of the Eternals. Including a cameo of Steve Rogers and Jack Kirby?! The stories are interesting and the art is solid. 8 out of 10 Grahams.

MAD ABOUT DC     DC COMICS

While I will be the first to admit that the current version of Mad Magazine is not made for my generation, the organizers of this specialremember the good old days . From the cover joke of the New New 52 to the types of Kryptonite, I can’t help but highly recomend this comic. To an homage to Al Jaffe’s Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions Super-Hero style. This one made an old Mad Magazine fan proud and I was also glad to see that there were no reprinted DC movie parodies. 10 out of 10 Grahams.

GHOST  MACHINE OFFICIAL GUIDEBOOK #1

With Who’s Who bonus pages appearing in most of the Ghost Machine titles, it was only natural to compile a mini-series featuring the who’s and what’s for us adoring fans. And while issue one gives us some big names like Geiger, it also gives us some insight into the Committee On Spectral Affairs and the Department of Historical Preservation. And while a gimmick that’s a bit over used these days, it is still a welcome edition especially if done well and researched properly. And we’re only up to the letter H. 10 out of 10 Grahams

DC FINEST JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA STARRO TPB

Before the Injustice League and the Legion of Doom. Before the discovery of parallel universes, the Justice League … of America was a wonderful little group who came together to fight alien starfish, android duplicators, and cosmic fun houses. No multi issue storylines. No official multiple title crossovers. Just good clean one and done in one issue fun. This was truly the start of the Silver Age of Comics. 10 out of 10 Grahams.
