We’ve made it through a long January, and as we approach hopefully improving weather and definitely improving moods, we also near the first major holiday of the year: Valentine’s Day! And here at Graham Crackers Comics we are giving every one of our customers a perfect Valentine gift, the gift of comics!!! It’s the Valentine’s Sale To Fall In Love With coming to all Graham Cracker Comics shop locations the weekend of Feb 13-15. Most of the newer comics on the racks are just $2.50 on Friday and Saturday, and then the unbelievable price of $2 on Sunday!!! But what does this sale mean, and how does it work? Well, here is a nice little guide to everything about the sale.
What is part of the sale?
This sale is on the recent releases of individual comics that we have on our shelves lining the walls. These are books that have come out in the last few months that have not been made into back issues yet. So, they are “newer” issues of various series, whether Marvel, DC, Independent, or part of our All-Ages sections. However, they cannot be the “newest” issues of titles or have been released within the last 5 weeks, they are not part of the sale. So, for example:

Here, you see a recent issue that has our New Release sign. That means that book has come out this very week. So, you know that wouldn’t be part of the sale.

Or here, we have a title with our Last Week Release sign. So that would also not be a part of the sale.
So, you are almost halfway there to knowing what is definitely not part of the sale. But how will you know about the other 3 weeks?!? Generally, you can have an idea if a book is too recent if you know it is the most recent issue of the series, as that has likely come out within the five weeks. But to make it the easiest on everyone, all of our stores will have a print out of all the titles that we have received in the last 5 weeks, so we all will know exactly what is not part of the sale.
What should I get!?!
The possibilities here are simply endless. You could go through the shelves and pick out every number one you see and give yourself a little taste of everything to see if those are series you would like to check out without having to spend the full price on a series you know nothing about. Or if there is a series you’ve been hearing good things about but haven’t been sure if you want to try, well at the $2.50/ $2 price you could pick up several issues of that series without it breaking the bank. I often stock up on issues of series that I didn’t really want to stop reading, but had to make the hard choice of taking off my pull list. So, I’ve missed the last five issues, but now, for just $2.50 each I can get caught up! But what I really can’t help myself with is going crazy on some variants!!! So many comics have so many incredible covers for every issue, it’s hard to choose which one to go with, and which ones to leave behind. And it can be hard buying multiple copies of the same issue just because it has three or four cool covers. Well rejoice, as now you don’t have to feel so bad getting some issues simply for the amazing cover, because at $2.50, it’s a no brainer!
So, if you’ve never partaken of this particular sale, stop by any one (or multiple ones) of our locations during the February 13-15 weekend and find out why this is by far one of our most popular sales. But get there early, because the racks can get picked through quite quickly, and what you are hoping to get a discount on could already be snapped up! It’s a hard choice, getting top picks by going Friday and Saturday, or taking your chances on what’s left for the extra discount on Sunday. I know I’m going to get some that I absolutely have to have on the Friday, but still have some I’m hoping to clean up on by Sunday. But never fret, because every store shelves are stocked full of issues to please all!!!
