DC KO THE KIDS ARE ALL FIGHT #1 DC COMICS
Lets face facts here. The only reason I’m here is that writer Jeremy Adams was clever enough to work some of the lost JSA children into the story. I can’t say that I have any use for the DC/KO titles. Nor do I like when giant overwhelming comic events (which are soooo popular these days!) not only take over every title but overwhelm the comic shelves with dozens of one-shots and mini-series. That all being said, Adams, along with artist Travis Mercer do a good job of giving us a potential Jr. Justice League of New New Titans group for the future. It’s mainly a brains over battles story with a few bonuses for the casual reader. Better than most of the DC/KO nonsense that is filling the newstands these days but that’s a very low bar to set. 7 out of 10 Grahams.
IRON MAN #1 MARVEL COMICS
Oh boy, look all you comic speculators, a new number #1 issue featuring one of Marvel’s Big 3! You should run out and buy 10 copies and have them immediately bag and boarded and put into climate controlled storage for at least 25 years. You’ll have a fortune on your hands. Sarcasm aside, why? Why do we need to have a new #1 issue. Why not just slap the “A Bold New Era Begins Here!” logo on the cover of issue number whatever we’re on now? Well, anywho, writer Joshua Williamson has started with some interesting concepts as Madame Masque and A.I.M. are back and trying to come up with a new version of Iron Man. But I wasn’t really impressed by the Transformers-type motorcycle that turns out to be Tony’s armor. Artist Carmen Carnero does a good job of illustrating armor. But is it really a ‘BOLD NEW ERA’ ? I’m not to sure about that. 7 out of 10 Grahams.
