UNIVERSAL MONSTERS THE MUMMY #4 IMAGE COMICS
The Universal Monsters mini-series have been a bit hit or miss. Dracula and Frankenstein were very clever and well done. The Creature From the Black Lagoon, not so much but that might be because I am biased. (as a kid the Creature was my favorite monster.) And while writer/artist Faith Erin Hicks seemed to be incorporating many of the successful elements that had made the Dracula and Frankenstein series, it wasn’t all there. But not all that was on her. Universal’s Mummy was much more of a tragic love story than a horror. But even though the middle of the story was a bit bland, she brings it back at the end as Isis takes Ankh-Es-En-Amun home, Helen’s soul is returned to her body and Imhotep disintegrates into ash. I give it a 7 out of 10 Grahams.

BIKER MICE FROM MARS #1 NACELLEVERSE
The Nacelleverse continues as not only have the Biker Mice returned but the added Roboforce #0 flip book does as well. And Throttle, Vinnie, and Modo waste no time popping wheelies into action. And as the Roboforce flip book shows, the comic titles are starting to merge into an overall story. As a Sectaur shows up in the pages. But meanwhile back on the other side of the book, the Plutarkians have come up with a way to trigger volcanos and the devastation is terrible. Writer Melissa Flores shows the tragic mature side to a beloved 90’s classic cartoon. I’m glad to see the Nacelleverse return. 8 out of 10 Grahams.
