JUSTICE LEAGUE VS GODZILLA VS KONG 2 #1 DC COMICS
Geez DC, could you make the titles any longer?! And isn’t there some sort of timing rule about doing a follow up mini-series to a mini-series that just ended? Apparently, we are going on the striking while the iron is still luke-warm. And again, this is a huge and confusing story with way too many elements in it. The only main difference between this series and the last is the replacing of the Injustice League with a version of the Suicide Squad. While Barry and Iris tie the knot, Amanda Waller is trying to turn Killer Shark into a giant Kaiju? Who exactly is the Colonel of HDC (I’m pretty sure I know but I didn’t post a spoiler alert notice. So you’re on your own.)? What’s with the Enchantress’s new outfit? Makes her look like Phobia from the Fearsome Five. The upsetting part is that Brian Buccellato’s story would have made for a pretty good Suicide Squad story if they didn’t have to cram Godzilla and Kong in there. Christian Duce does a fine job on art and colorist Luis Guerrero does a good job with reflective colors. I hate to penalize a good creatrive team so I’ll go with a 7 out of 10 Grahams but just barely.

JSA #8 DC COMICS
I am amazed by the turn around this title has made. What started out as a lukewarm revival of Infinity Inc. has returned to what made previous Justice Society titles great. The cover alone tells you they get it! Writer Jeff Lemire channels John Robinson with a Times Past interlude. Guest including Sgt. Rock, the Unknown Soldier, Liberty Belle, the Blackhawks with Lady Blackhawk in towall pop in to help as Wotan and Johnny Sorrow throw a collection of World War II super-villains at the JSA. This chapter opens up all kinds of future plot points that I hope we’ll get to see. Put this one back on my pull list! 10 out of 10 Grahams.

KAMEN AMERICA PATRIOT DREAM ANTARCTIC PRESS
Mark Pellegrini and Timothy Lim return with Volume 9 of this under noticed, strange, independant anime/manga, super-hero, musical band storyline. These volumes are a wonderful mish-mash that it’s hard not to love. Unfortunately, with no real release schedule, you really need to keep your eyes open for a new issue. The crew continues to grow as Kamen America, Kamen Comet, Marmot Maiden, are joined by Kamen Ramen and Kamen Terra to deal with problems at the Nyanfeld Galaxy Theme Park. Gadgets, new costumes, battle tactic upgrades, this one’s got it all. Completely worth keeping on your radar. 9 out of 10 Grahams.
