Doc’s Reviews for the Week of 10/30/19

TRANSFORMERS GALAXIES #2     IDW COMICS

Jumping into issue 2 without prior knowledge, I actually found this interesting without knowing what had happened prior. Tyler Bleszinski’s story and dialog really spotlight some of the older Transformers that I remember my brother owning. The Constructicons and the Insecticons had brief periods of popularity but didn’t last long back then. So it was cool to see them get real personalities. And Livio Ramondelli’s art gives new meaning to glowing. Definately a must read for fans of the original toys. I give it a 7 out of 10 Grahams.

MARVEL ZOMBIES RESURRECTION #1     MARVEL COMICS

Sigh! More zombie schenanagans, big whoop. Now for those of you who were too young to have lived through a time in Marvel’s history when mini-series after mini-series beat the original concept like a dead horse, you might get a kick out of this. A new virus, a new version of the Marvel Zombies but the truth is for us old folks, been there done that. I give it a 5 out of 10 Grahams.

HARLEEN #2     DC COMICS

Stjepan Sejic’s newest project is a wonderful presentation of his talents as both writer and illustrator. And while his look at the relationship between Harley and Mr. J is very in-depth and thought provoking, it unfortunately comes at a time where the world is flooded with the two characters. Movies, books, guest appearances we are inundated by these two. I liked what I was reading but I am actually sick of these characters. Which is a shame. I give it a 7 out of 10 Grahams.
