Doc’s Reviews for the Week of 11/14/18

RIPLEY’S BELIEVE IT OR NOT! #2     ZENESCOPE ENTERTAINMENT

More Believe It or Not stories that always have the ability to entertain and fascinate. But what makes this book stand head and shoulders above the rest is creative crew which manage to intertwine in the the separate stories into a whole narrative. The framing sequence’s main character of Ted is one we can all identify with as he is drawn into the World of Robert Ripley. I give it a 7 out of 10 Grahams.

AVENGERS #7OO (OR DO YOU SAY #10)      MARVEL COMICS

Let me once again point up to the powers that be that if you quit renumber titles, you can find yourself on something as cool as a #700. That being said this oversized little goody, definately tries to capture the fun and excitement that the Avengers could once generate for me. With a host of guest appearances, this issue lets us touch base and try to get caught up while setting the stage for future storylines. And while I still disagree about some of the roster, I still did enjoy reading this. I give this a 7 out of 10 Grahams.

MINIONS VIVA LA BOSS!      TITAN COMICS

Short and Sweet, How could anyone not love the goofy antics of Gru’s little yellow henchmen as they bumble through the centuries. LaPluss’ and Collin’s talents make this title a true spinoff from the movie. Not just for kids! I give it an 8 out of 10 Grahams.

STAR TREK VS. TRANSFORMERS #2     IDW COMICS

Barber, Johnson, and Murphy must be having a total gas doing this title! A straight forward script done in classic Saturday morning cartoon scenarios. The art work is spot on and shows the differences between the generations. And with the full compliment of the cartoon Starfleet characters and concepts like a mind meld between Spoke and Optimus, this is a must read. I give it an 8 out of 10 Grahams.
