Sale-ing away for in store savings!

You’re there.  You’re at the finish line in a race you didn’t even know you were running. Congratulations! What’s the race? It’s the race to Graham Crackers Absolute-ly Huge Autumn Sale! Starting Thursday 11/20 at Naperville, and Friday 11/21 at 12 other locations, your wait for one of two Comically Classic sales is over.

“What’s on sale?” “How do I maximize my savings?” “Is it happening at MY Graham Crackers?”  “Where are my keys?” “Why did daddy leave?”  These are just a few of the questions we hear every year.  That makes today, now, THIS MOMENT, a great time, perhaps the PERFECT time, to answer most of those.

“Even poor Peter Parker knows not to miss this sale”

What’s on sale?  MOST STUFF!  It might be easier to tell you what’s not on sale. Newer comics, comics on our racks in the DC/Marvel/Indy sections are NOT a part of the sale. Certain key older comics are not a part of the sale. Items that came out this week are not a part of the sale. Most sets of Magic the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Star Wars Unlimited are not a part of the sale. All Pokémon cards are not a part of the sale.  Items that are already marked down or discounted are not a part of the sale. There’s possibly one or two more things I’m forgetting but check with the staff they’ll let you know.

That all sounds slightly negative, so in the interest of being an enthusiastic so-and-so, that means basically THE REST OF THE STORE IS ON SALE! MOST OF THE STORE IS ON SALE. Toys, statues, comic supplies, card supplies, board games, RPGs,  graphic novels, hardcovers, t-shirts, posters, Funko pops, a good number of older display books, are all 20% off!  That’s a lotta Motts, as we used to say in the applesauce game.

“Local orphan prepares to help local economy”

That’s not all!! Back issues -older comics we’ve priced ourselves that are in long boxes in our stores- are 50% percent off!  HALF OFF!  That’s about as good as any sale is going to get. The timing, before the holidays, isn’t exactly bad either.  Why not save money while giving cool gifts people actually want?

“Wheaton-its not just 2000 lbs of whea!”

That should be enough, right?  Twice a year monster savings, bringing 2025 nearly to an end.  But we hear other questions, so let’s answer those too. How do I maximize my savings?  Is it happening at MY Graham Crackers? Yes and yes?! The sale is absolutely at all 13 Graham Crackers locations, and you maximize your savings by making a travel plan!  Each Graham Crackers location has a unique selection of products, and we’ve done the driving to know you can actually get to all of our locations over the three days.

“Downers Grove showing some sale love for Anung Un Rama!”

That’s not homework, mind you.  We want this to be fun. So here are some fun geographic facts-

“Kids, while not actual royalty, are Kings and Queens at Naperville!”

If you’re heading to our Wheaton store because they’ve got an excellent selection of comic sets, action figures, and back issues, you’re just a short drive away from our Downers Grove store and its giant selection of back issues and many graphic novel bookshelves (I mean, check out that Hellboy display!), which means you’re just down the road from our Naperville store and their MONSTER selection of older comics, magical selection of kids graphic novels, while there you’re only about 20 minutes away from either St. Charles or Plainfield, both with always expanding selections of back issues and maybe the best selections of statues.  WHEW.  That’s a lot of stuff to save on.

“St. Charles is the patron Saint of ‘well stocked comic books stores with natural lighting’”

But we’re not done.

“There’s nothing plain about our Plainfield location!”

“Our Dekalb store has 13554 points of articulation.”

See what you did there at the end?  You started a ‘choose your own adventure’ book. If you went to St. Charles, turn to page 56 and drive west to Dekalb and their two floors of savings with over 100 boxes of back issues and spectacular selection of action figures.  If you went to Plainfield, turn to page 42 and head out to our Normal store with their award-winning graphic novel section and a deep selection for Funko pop fans.

“Pride reigns supreme in our Normal store!”

“Coo Roo Koo Koo Koo Koo Koo Kooooo!”

If you’ve already gone on The Trip To Dekalb (with Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon), take off to the Great White North of Madison Wisconsin for what some have called our most eclectic store. Shawn is a madman, but in a good way, like Dabney Coleman- a madman of the people. His back issues are loaded up with new product every two weeks, and there have been a lot of these couplets since the summer sale.  Plus, you’re going to see some weird stuff there, there’s just no doubt about it.

“Don’t you have 13 stores?”  Uh…yeah. “Aren’t there only 8 listed so far?” Uh…yeah. “Doesn’t that mean that there’s 5 more to talk about?” Uh…yeah?

“Johnny B and the Leisure Suits would love this place! It’s squishy!”

Or maybe I was SAVING THE BEST FOR LAST, LET’S DO THIS!  Let’s face it, if you’re not starting in the city, you have to get TO the city and that’s going to take some time. Chicago is best in a day trip anyway, and you’ll want to hit all three Graham Crackers locations.  Let’s start in The Loop (97.9, for those in the know). Located close to the Art Institute, and near enough the Bean and Lake Michigan that they’re just around the corner, you’ve found our busiest location.  Things will hustle and bustle in the back issues and graphic novels, and you’ll wonder how they can fit SO MUCH in the store (check out those stuffies!) while you’re wondering how you’re saving SO MUCH while you’re there. You’ll be impressed.

“Bring it on down to Andersonville!!”

“The name would suggest we can VIEW the LAKE from here sir.  I’d like to talk to the manager.”

From there, both Andersonville and Lakeview are in play.  Both have great selections of older comics. Both have great selections of graphic novels.  Both are roughly in the Wrigleyville area, or peak downtown concert area depending on if you’re a Cubs fan or a live music fan, neither of which are important now because you’re a COMICS fan, and you’re saving upon saving upon saving with just a little bit of driving once you’ve arrived in Chi-Town.

“Always Pop-ping in our California location.”

Then there’s our Murrieta store. Its clean, renovated, revamped, and filled with cool stuff.  It IS in California though, and we’ll understand if that’s just a bit too far to drive. They ARE participating though, and will have TONS of cool back issues, games, and toys (among other items) rocked and ready for savings.

“The only thing newer than the store is the sign outside!”

So that’s lots of older stuff on sale at a LOT of places, but what about something NEW?  Well, you can’t get much newer than our NEW location in Schaumburg!  Rob and his team have a veritable cornucopia of items that are absolutely NEW to a NEW town in a NEW location, perfectly timed for the Winter Sale.

So that’s it really.  “What’s on sale?”  MOST STUFF.  “Where?”  ALL GRAHAM CRACKERS.  “Why did daddy leave?”  Um, I was hoping you forgot about that one.  Hop in the car, put on your seatbelt, and let me tell you about what it means when someone goes out for cigarettes.  While we’re doing that, let’s stop at a Graham Crackers and get something nice for you…
