What can be said about My Little Pony? Plenty! Ever since IDW announced that they would be bringing the delightful ponies to print, thousands of children (including my own daughter) has been asking the question, is it out yet? Thank goodness, this week I can finally answer...YES! And IDW brings them to life wonderfully. Katie Cook's writing is spot on with the televised adventures of Pinky Pie, Applejack, etc. And Andy Price's art is a terrific translation of the images on our television screens to the printed page! And the most mind blowing thing is that covers A thru F (Yep, that's 6 different covers!) actually connect together to highlight the main characters. Wow, IDW what are you trying to do revolutionize the comics industry by destroying the notion on random pointless multiple covers?! But the best part of this book is the wide variety of peoples that this book appeals to. I met my first 'Hoofians' (I think that's the proper spelling.) as well as old and young alike. Grandparents making a special trip to pick up the book for the grandkids visit this weekend, dads that took an extended lunch hour to make sure they got a copy. This book is a constant reminder that even in today's society, comics are for kids! And now a spoiler alert from my daughter, Lily. *** Fan favorite the Doctor Who pony can be found on page 3 on the middle right hand side of the page. He does get to wear his hat and scarf but his hourglass ponymark is quite visible. *** (My daughter actually pointed this out to me after having the book in her hands for less than a minute. It truely scares me!)
