We are faceless. We are limitless. We see all. And we do not forgive. Who defends the powerless against the GREEDY and the CORRUPT? Who protects the homeless and poverty-stricken from those who would PREY upon them in the DARK OF NIGHT? When those who are sworn to protect us abuse their power, when toxic government calls down super-human lackeys to force order upon the populace...finally, there is a force, a citizen's army, to push order BACK. Let those who abuse the system know this as well: We have our OWN super humans now. They are not afraid of your badges or Leagues. And they will not be SILENCED. We are your neighbors. We are your co-workers. And we are your children.

I was SO excited to read a new Gail Simone project!! Super hero activists defending the majority: sign me up! Expectations ran high after reading the initial synopsis, “who defends the powerless against the greedy and corrupt?” And paired with “The Green Team” I expected this to be a 1% vs the 99% sort of mirrored theme.

This first issue focused so much on the corruption in the police department – I feel like there are far more important issues than officers. Sure, the two cops in focus at the beginning are obviously despicable, but that’s just 2 men out of an entire department. I guess I was hoping for more government or corporate corruption as the catalyst for The Movement. Cops are sworn to protect the innocent, and this citizen’s army is taking the streets back from the cops.

Hopefully these saviors move on to bigger fish soon, because taking on law enforcement is not getting this reader back for another round. Taking on big business or first-amendment-rights-stomping near-imperialistic government: that will.

I give it 5 out of 10 Grahams
