VERY FINE/NEAR MINT

(W/A/CA) Sun Takeda
Dark, disturbing, sexy, and shameful, this new sci-fi action manga stars a dominating teenage girl searching for a sister who became a monster, and a submissive boy with the strange power to turn into a ragged but powerful beast, with a zipper down his back and a compartment on the inside just big enough to hold a human body. It's like Pokémon with a dose of S&M! Shuichi Kagaya an ordinary high school kid in a boring little town. But when a beautiful classmate is caught in a warehouse fire, he discovers a mysterious power: He can transform into a furry dog with an oversized revolver and a zipper down his back. He saves the girl's life, sharing his secret with her. But she's searching for the sister who killed her family, and she doesn't care how degrading it gets: She will use Shuichi to accomplish her mission... !

So a quick tidbit of knowledge for you Gleipnir is actually the thread created to bind Fenrir down in Norse Mythology. When those bindings break, Ragnarok will begin.
Now that I have bored you with a history lesson I honestly have to say this vol.01 is a surprisingly intriguing jump into a new story. Shuichi Kagaya is a normal high school student and even so more on the shy side. He doesn’t have anything that drives him and is just hoping he can decide what he wants to do with his future. Except one thing recently he has gained the ability to transform into a large almost mascot looking dog monster. He meets Claire a younger classmate who knows his secret, she isn’t afraid just curious. Believing he is the key to finding her sister who also one day became a monster.
Overall this 1st volume is promising; it does fall short due some typical manga tropes. Feeling as though it is trying too hard coming off as awkward and asking if it was really necessary to show.
I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
