VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
(W) Brian Michael Bendis
(A/CA) David Mack
Max is not having the best year of his career. Sales on his comics series are tanking, and his personal life is crumbling. Could it have something to do with his double life as a spy? Max learns the definition of 'in too deep' as his worlds start to collide. COVER is a major new project from longtime collaborators and Peabody Award winners Brian Bendis and Emmy-nominated artist David Mack. It's a heartfelt valentine to comics creators, their creations and the genres they inspire.

BONUS REVIEW by Kevin Healy

Cover is the best book of the new Jinxworld titles from Brian Michael Bendis after his move to DC. The CIA is using comic convention schedules to have an artist work for them outside of the US. It turns out, other countries are doing the exact same thing.

The big strength of the book is the writing, the big drawback is the art. Not the art for the whole book, I mean, David Mack is going to make some pretty pictures. The problem is that maybe 1/3 of the pages look like they're trying to compete against John Byrne's 'Snowblind'story in Alpha Flight. They make for a quick read (but one that will continue to grow on you if you give it a chance.)

I give it 7 out of 10 Grahams
