I have to admit, not a huge Batman fan. Didn't read the Death of the Family storyline. Didn't really care that they killed Damion. But was curious enough to see how badly this train wreck was going to be after dealing with all the crazies trying to be cool or rich owning the first New 52 appearance of Carrie Kelley. (Don't know who she is? Don't panic, Carrie was the female Robin from Frank Miller's classic The Dark Knight Returns book) So after punching, kicking, and classic Three Stooges eye-poking to get a copy, I was amazed to find a really good story with appropriate art. From the concerns of Alfred, the risky sacrifice of Red Robin, the surprise guest appearance of Frankenstein, Agent of Shade, it all fits together nicely. And the mystery of who Miss Kelley really is and what connection she has to poor ole Damion is quite interesting. Holy 1970's Neal Adams Batman book with a real mystery to solve in it, this book should act as a primer to all New 52 storytellers.

I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
