In a gleaming new world of prosperity, Captain America is no more. But Steve Rogers still exists, floating through an America where freedom is an illusion, where THE AVENGERS are strangers and his friends are long dead. But is the Dream? How do you assemble Avengers in a world that doesn't want them? PLUS: A behind-the-scenes look at the making of this issue!
Date Available: 01/17/2024
BONUS REVIEW by Luke Simkins

Avengers Twilight is a fantastic alternate universe story, on par with Earth X or Old Man Logan. The story revolves around an older Steve Rogers (Captain America) who has had the super-soldier serum drained from his system as a result of “H-Day”. Steve tried to run for senator, but couldn’t garner enough public support, so he gave up. Matt Murdoc (Daredevil) and Luke Cage (Power Man) try to get Steve to do more, but fail to light a fire under the tired old Captain. After a talk show fiasco involving James Stark (the child of Tony Stark [Iron Man] and Janet Van Dyne [Wasp]), Steve finally decides to try and do something. I’m a huge fan of alternate future stories, and Avengers Twilight does a great job of putting familiar characters into unfamiliar situations.

I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
