 I love football. I love zealotry. I love tales of insane backwater drug abuse, prostitution, politics, suicide, murder, and vengeance. I never thought all of those elements would be shoved into one book, at their bleakest for each, so when I say this is another love letter to Southern Bastards, I'm probably being too mild. Coach Boss faces loss and failure for the first time, and the results are surprising on many fronts. Stunning, cruel work set against a homecoming football game. Recommended for fans of Preacher, Friday Night Lights, and The Wire. I give it 10 out of 10 Grahams VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
