Gunhawk accepts a commission to take down an illegitimate sheriff, which attracts the attention of the Scragg gang, who try to hire him to find the location of a hidden mine and take it from the rightful owner. Jeb Howard robs a bank and escapes capture, but soon finds that life on the run isn't worth the value of the money he stole. Major Sabre arrives to take command at Fort Rango and finds that his new men are hopelessly undisciplined. Over the next day he faces their utter contempt, a mutinous attempt on his life, and an attack from the neighboring Sioux tribe. Rebel Rand is a former Confederate soldier roaming the Old West, seeking revenge for the death of his brother in the Civil War. In March 1836, during the Siege of the Alamo, four fighters are sent with a message to General Sam Houston asking for reinforcements. Keeping vigil at the bedside of the comatose Natalie Brooks, Carter Slade is attacked by the Tarantula, who claims to be concerned about the girl. Later, as the Ghost Rider, he tracks down the villain and they fight, but he is shocked when the Tarantula's mask comes off.
