A NEW ERA DAWNS…AVENGERS ASSEMBLE! HAWKEYE (KATE BISHOP). HAWKEYE (CLINT BARTON). A guy named FUSE. Never have they ever been called 'the big three' of...anything. And now here they are, reunited for, okay, well, it's only the second time ever. Thank god they also brought AMERICA CHAVEZ, GWENPOOL and KID OMEGA. Wait. What? That's right, it's the new West Coast Avengers, son. And you better hope they can figure out how to save the world because BIG things are headed for the West Coast.

BONUS REVIEW by Kevin Healy

West Coast Avengers is trying to have it both ways. The previous 'West Coast' was a legit Avengers book. 'Great Lakes' was meant to be a humor book, because why would the upper east, mid east, and midwest need protecting, right? Why not combine the two and make a serious Avengers book in CA that is also a hilarious Avengers book in CA?

The results are mixed, and presented w/ artwork that fits (and disappoints) in the same way. Stefano Caselli done energetic figure work and expressive faces, but boy oh boy there are a lot of panels here w/out backgrounds. Then there's one clever twist too many by the end, bringing the fun to a screeching halt.

Entertaining start to a new series that can't maintain its momentum through the 1st issue.

I give it 6 out of 10 Grahams
