ULTRON RETURNS…REDEEMED? Iron Man and War Machine have put together a new team of Avengers - one that includes villains seeking a path to redemption. Their case study? Ultron - who, against all odds, seems to be walking the straight and narrow…for now. But does the success of one guarantee the success of all? Spider-Woman and Firestar have their doubts. And can any amount of heroics really absolve Ultron of his past?

"Come out to the coast. Have a few laughs."

A new team of Avengers, with a new mindset- reform criminals so you don't have to fight them anymore. Pepper in some actual good guys to keep them in line.

That might be giving you Thunderbolts vibes, and it is the exact joke running through Jenny Nicholson's 'Suicide Squad' pitch.

So, how does it work? OK! Fine-ish! Our reformed reformers are attempting to reform Ultron (!) and Blue Bolt (?). They'll be adding a newly soused Firestar next issue, so we'll likely get Tony trying to get someone else into AA. Hilarity ensues, but maybe off panel?

Actually, Gerry Duggan does have some effective humor in his script. Danny Kim's art is short on backgrounds for my tastes. (Old people will get what I'm saying.) What's there has a mixed 'Mitch Byrd/Andrea Mutti' feel without hitting the highs of either.

It works as a title you can walk into as a new reader, but barely. The Ultron material is interesting here at the start, but not compelling. "You could do worse." isn't exactly a rave, but it is exactly what I'm saying.
