DC Comics has always been known for throwing out a holiday special here and there. (Halloween and Christmas being their favorites) And occasionally these specials give us some worthwhile reading. But a Valentine's Day special spotlighting the (Oh my god, what are they thinking!) Superman/Wonder Woman romance? (Lois, will you quit being head b*t*h over at the Planet and get back into the Clark - Superman - Lois triangle where you belong! Over 70 years of comic history can't be wrong!) I don't think I can get on board for that. The problem is that after reading this odd special, most of this is really good. Now, admittedly, some of it is quiet cheesy, mushy, (add your favorite adjective here) but here it works. Batman and Catwoman actually quite touching and no clevage shot were necessary. The Aquaman/Mera short is by far the best of the stories but the thing that pushes this book into the red is the ironic return to the 1970's with special DC valentine cards! I remember the originals and I'm pretty sure both sets included a Catwoman one reading "You're Purr-fect". Holy flashback Batman! This book is worth the $7.99 asking price!

I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
