 This is a straightforward, humorous, and sympathetic X-Men yarn featuring Magik and Kitty Pryde. I'm partial to Kitty, and have been disappointed with her recent arc with Peter Quill where her characterization has been compromised, so this was a nice highpoint for her in Bendis's run. It's big splashy fun adventure time on Monster Island, and a great single X-issue anyone can pick up and enjoy on its own terms. Issues like this should show Bendis detractors why he is so well suited to the X-Men. I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
