FROM THE JOURNALS OF OBI-WAN KENOBI Another tale of Obi-Wan's exile on Tatooine! Owen Lars took Luke in...but he refused to let Ben be part of his life. Why? What trouble could have been stirred up by Ben protecting Luke? Rated T
Date Available: 03/09/2016
BONUS REVIEW by Kevin Healy

This is another issue set before 'Star Wars'. It continues the story of Obi-Wan protecting Luke from afar on Tatooine. Luke's uncle isn't happy about that. The art by Mike Mayhew is nice, but not as nice as the last Obi-Wan's Journal story. A bit too photo referenced for my tastes-your mileage may vary. The script, however, is much better than #7, and the larger picture for how this issues will work is starting to become clear. We all know Owen had little regard for that 'crazy old wizard'. Having their relationship fleshed out is always a welcome sight. The only problem is that Dark Horse did a version of this story that involved a robotically legged Darth Maul back from the dead attacking the Skywalker moisture farm, and this one features a box of skyhopper parts being returned along with a stern talking to. Clearly, one is more exciting. (It's not the one with the parts.)

I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
