In the split second after a heavy-weapons blast the air goes silent and still, just as it does in the ghostly realm of Circe. How will Rock and his team of men - battle-hardened, but still human - survive a villainess who can walk on the very wind? Plus, Navy Seals Ice and Tracker go where no boots are on the ground, but when their mission is compromised, how will they tell friend from foe?

DC Comics gives us more military action with Sgt. Rock. The storyline is good and it's great to see the flashback history of the man called Rock. The problem is that the storyline veers into some metaphysical territory that seems a bit out of place for a second issue. Sure, DC war books have ventured into the strange before but not so soon into the series. I think we need to get to know our characters better before we have them meeting strange albino women that float. It's almost as if ,in keeping with the New 52's apparent sex and violence upgrade, Men of War needed some hot half-naked babe prancing through the pages. It's not that the character of Circe doesn't belong but she just seems unnecessary or didn't have to be portrayed as she is. Back up Navy Seals again proves itself to be a military man's story.
