BONUS REVIEW by John "Doc" Schaefer

I'll be the first one to try out a new independent book. Especially one who's premise is based on the Frankenstein legacy. However, this book confuses me. Subtle clues show me the time frame we are suppose to be in (vintage cars, hair-dos on the women, references to the Fairy photos and Houdini) but then I am confronted by Dr. Krall's female assistant who seems very modern in the way she is presented (She's out digging up body parts?!) Dr. Krall treats her with respect but then tries to convey how a proper lady acts to his monster? And Krall is himself a bit of a enigma. He goes through all this trouble to save Gail but ruthlessly smothers a young girl with no signs of remorse and shows no outpouring of emotions when he is sharing moments with Gail. This is an interesting book, I'm just not sure if I'm getting everything out of it.

I give it 5 out of 10 Grahams
