True love becomes divine hatred between the Queen of Blood and Andrew, as her vampires begin their attacks across the country. Their past behind them, they find themselves ready to battle to the death... If those feelings really are all gone. Surrounded by swarms of bloodthirsty vamps, Andrew must confront his immortal beloved in a blood-soaked battle he can't win.

I keep thinking that if I stick with something long enough, I will find the good in it. The New 52's I,Vampire is really pushing that theory. After ruining a wonderful character by turning him into a moody pop culture version of a vampire and throwing him into the middle of a AMC cable series in issue one, we focas in on Andrew's best gal. But I may have found that long sought after silver lining. You see good ole Mary, has always been a bit of a nut job. She even changed her last name to QueenofBlood. So Mary hasn't changed all that much (that is if you don't count the tatooed body costume!) In fact, she again shows that the New 52 like their strong, devious women. Andrea Sorrentino's art is gritty and grey and perfect for the target audience this book seems to be shooting for. But again, this is not a Vertigo book, this is mainstream DC. And I am not a member of that demographic. I truely wonder if anyone who was at the pitch meeting for this title sat back and said, "Great idea to capitalize of the whole True Blood/Twilight/Walking Dead section of the marketplace but does anyone realise that we don't have a movie/cable series to help cross promote this book?"
