Convergence Swamp Thing #1

Convergence Swamp Thing #1

$3.99
VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
(W) Len Wein (A/CA) Kelley Jones
STARRING HEROES FROM CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS! The dome has cut off all the heroes from their powers - but what happens when Swamp Thing is cut off from his life source in The Green?
Date Available: 04/22/2015
BONUS REVIEW by Gavin Rehfeldt

After restating Swamp Thing's intricate origins, we kickoff the Convergence adventure of pre-New52/pre-Crisis Swamp Thing. It's not great, choosing to focus on Swamp Thing disconnected from the green due to the giant dome covering Gotham City. Len Wein has always had the voice of Swamp Thing down, but fails to provide a compelling tale. The big promise of the 2 issue mini, the vampire-dominated Red Rain Elseworld Universe, gets a week payoff. This is no Alan Moore's Swamp Thing, few comics are, but absence of his kind of dramatic weight is felt. Jones's art is compelling, but not enough to overcome this lackluster entry.

I give it 5 out of 10 Grahams
