The Yakuza and the Triads are at war, and The Spirit’s caught in the middle! Can one man really tip the balance between the city’s most powerful crime families? It depends on which are quicker – his fists, or his wits! Don’t miss this stunning stand-alone issue featuring art and story by Michael Avon Oeming (Powers)!

BONUS REVIEW by GARY OWENS

Michael Avon Deming, writer and artist, must have had this story queued for a while, since it’s deep, involved, and thought provoking. It answers the question on how The Spirit fits into the big picture, as the Spirit tries to handle a gang war without turning the city into a war zone (with him wearing a bull’s-eye on his chest). Complicated, practical, meaningful, and with less dames than your normal comic (for those who have to watch their skinny girl intake), it ends with a nice twist that could impact future adventures for The Spirit. For those who wonder how Batman could solve issues if he and the Commish wasn’t so intense: try this one on for size.

I give it 10 out of 10 Grahams
