NICK IDELL'S FIRST COMIC
Being only five years of age at the time this book came out, I wasn't very skilled at the reading portion of comics. But when my mother and I went into the Phillips 66 and she told me I could pick out a treat I knew that it wasn't fun dip that I wanted, it was a comic book featuring two of my favorite movie stars battling on the cover, Superman and a giant ape I mistook for King Kong(Titano).Up to that point the only comics that I was familiar with were Archie and maybe a random Star comic like Top Dog. I talked her into buying it and I was so excited to go home with my new found treasure. A treasure that would spark a lifelong friendship and let's be honest...obsession. It had everything a first comic should have, animal tests gone wrong, evil plots foiled and tons and tons of violence. It was a life changing day and I haven't been the same person since. Thank you John Byrne.
