A SPIDER-GEDDON TIE-IN! Otto Octavius leaves the moniker of Doctor Octopus behind and once again becomes THE SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN! If you think you've already read the most intense and surprisingly heartbreaking Superior Spider-Man story, prepare to be wrong. Otto is going to prove to the world that he's the most effective and (to him at least) the best super hero in the world. But when a villain that overpowers him by so much shows up in San Francisco, there's no way Ock can win, right? Can you see Otto smirking from where you're reading this? Rated T

BONUS REVIEW by Kevin Healy

This is a mixed bag. There's a lot to like from a story standpoint-Otto's secret is out before the first issue ends, a favorite former herald of Galactus appears, and the great Wade von Grawbadger does the inks.

There's also the base art by Mike Hawthorne which pretty well sums up most of the problems modern sequential comics have in the simplicity of the layouts, the lack of detail in the backgrounds (even if they are busy), and the stagnant figure work. Relying on color work and inks to try and bring something to the table just means you didn't bring something to the table in the first place. When in doubt, pencil it out.

Call it 'The OK Spider-Man'.

I give it 6 out of 10 Grahams
