The adventures of the Starship Enterprise continue in this new ongoing series that picks up where the blockbuster 2009 film left off! Featuring the new cast of the film, these missions re-imagine the stories from the original series in the alternate timeline created by the film, along with new threats and characters never seen before! With creative collaboration from STAR TREK writer/producer Roberto Orci, this new series begins the countdown to the much-anticipated movie sequel premiering in 2012. Join Kirk, Spock and the crew as they boldly go into a new future! Up first, a drastic new envisioning of 'Where No Man Has Gone Before.'

BONUS REVIEW by James Honey

When, oh when, oh when will a STAR TREK series get a decent artist? The series concept is sound; “The adventures of the Starship Enterprise continue with the new cast from the film as they embark on missions that re-imagine select stories from the original television series, along with new threats and characters never seen before”. However, Molnar’s visual style is unbalanced and almost, well, you’ve heard of Cubism? I’d call his Bubblism. Admittedly, it’s hard to find an artist that can bring depth to a panel AND be excellent at caricature (even John Byrne, with his ‘Crew’ and ‘Assignment Earth’ minis, confesses that likenesses elude him). Still, the writing is good and the art bearable. Essentially I’m saying that this STAR TREK, is better than NO STAR TREK.

I give it 6 out of 10 Grahams
