On the tail of the mini-series comes this one-shot, wrapping up all of the loose ends of the Spider-girl saga. Credit Tom Defalco and Ron Frenz --and Sal Buscema-- on how long the character lasted. For those who aren't following, this character lives in the indeterminate future, after Peter Parker and Mary-Jane have two kids, one being May Parker (Spider-girl, named after her Aunt). Tom and Ron like to poke fun, so May has a clone who is willing to clean house on criminals to show she’s tough. That storyline ends here, but Tom and Ron’s power comes from creating a world where people are alone and lonely, and the characters all try different things to cope. May Parker has had issues with school friends, family, and trying to understand everything, which is what made Spidey spectacular in his early days. Since this ends it, I don’t suggest starting here. But I give kudos to them for a well-paced, well-executed probable send-off of this character. This is story-telling 101, paced perfect down to the last panel. Look for Tom and Ron elsewhere, especially on characters they develop from scratch. They are a master at it.
I give it 10 out of 10 Grahams
