 With Gail Simone at the helm and Walter Geovani at the pencils, I was really expecting to have my socks knocked off. And with the potpourri of cover artist drawing my attention all over the comic rack, I was a little disappointed in what I got. This is by no means a bad book. But with a relaunched new #1 issue and all the big names involved, I was expecting more. This is a classic Sonja tale with spot-on dialog and the usual gruesomeness and surprise enemy. But there is no reason that this couldn't have been issue #70-whatever of the first Dynamite Red Sonja book. I realize that this is #1 so I am hoping that this book has more to offer me at a later date. I give it 6 out of 10 Grahams VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
