How many Nightwings does it take for one Joker to strike to get to the real one? Four Nightwings. And that's not even the punchline-how will Ric interact with the Joker when he's not quite sure which one of his two memories is the real one…and exactly how dangerous this clown standing before him is?

BONUS REVIEW by Kevin Healy

'Joker War' starts here! Kinda!

Unlike many 'Prelude to' or 'Road to' or 'Journey to' or 'One to', Nightwing #70 makes one major non-mistake: It actually includes the Joker. It's not really a tease when he's in 5 out of 22 pages.

Where the problem comes in, and there is a problem, is that the storyline currently going on involves Dick's memories being manipulated by a magic crystal used by the Court of Owls. If you say that out loud, it will go down a little bit easier than the written version, but will still have the phrase 'magic crystal' in it. Marianne Williamson sold seperately.

So, we weigh: 5 Joker pages, Ryan Benjamin/Scott Hanna art that has a distinctly Rick Leonardi feel at times, and a story that can be caught up on starting here against some awkward Dan Jurgens' dialogue and the Joker holding a, oh jeez...'magic crystal'. I'd say its a coin flip, but Two Face is no where in sight. The excitement for 'Three Jokers' pushes it to a 6.

I give it 6 out of 10 Grahams
