Midnight X-Men #1 should be the best new Midnight title. I say should because in my humble opinion, the talent on this book has generally been the best out of the 3 teams. All three books are highly recommended by the Wheaton GCC location, but X-Men falls only slightly behind the other two. Why you ask? Are you even reading this far? Simple. First is Storm. I have read/ seen enough Storm as a vampire to not even want to read this book. It has been done. It has been redone. It is what any X-Men fan would mention if you ask about vampires… You want to surprise me? Shock me? Hook me? Storm is only non-vampire or just not in the book at all. That easily would get you to 8 grahams. I have not read or seen that since 1985? Second? Is a spoiler. The absolute worst name in comics outside of “batmanium”. The new word, while said in jest (I hope) makes “unobtanium” Eisner worthy. Change that, make it clear it’s a one-time joke, or just don’t even attempt it? 9 out of 10 Grahams. If you buy only 1 book this week? Buy Demon #1. If you buy 2 or more? Try one of the new Midnight titles. Super fun horror books, just in time for SPOOKY SEASON!
