There's every reason to still be excited about the return of Hellraiser to comics. Boom, current publisher, had a quality run starting in 2011. Marvel also had a pretty great anthology series under their EPIC imprint.
Those are in the past though. The here and now is a mixed bag for the opening salvo into pain as pleasure. Writer Mike Costa has the mean elements down, but I'd argue just the elements. They're assembled with pieces missing, and you'll have to decide for yourself if that's by design or neglect. The art by Paco Camallonga is serviceable, but every other Hellraiser comic has looked better than this.
This is only one turn of the puzzle, so we'll return next week, same lament time, same lament channel, hopefully with better news.
