SHO-RYU-KEN! UDON's Street Fighter comics are back, and bigger than ever! Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and all of the hadoken-hurling action you love graces the pages of this oversized new comic book! Developed specially for Free Comic Book Day, this issue includes brand-new stories for hardcore Street Fighter fans, and a stand-alone chapter from Street Fighter Origins: Akuma-the perfect introduction for newcomers to the Street Fighter universe!
A welcome change from the earlier comics where the fighters screamed the names of their attacks, this issue, which previews some of the upcoming original Street Fighter graphic novels, promises some character development for a franchise known for having paper-thin characters and flimsy excuses for staging world-class martial arts tournaments. A strong lead story with SFIII favorite Sean, and a lead-out with a pre-demon Akuma bookend a mediocre tale featuring everyone's favorite dictator Bison and everyones least favorite boss Seth. All in all, the new graphic novels look promising, and this taste is certainly enough to satisfy your SF cravings, at least until Ultra hits in June.
I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
