(W) Joe Hill (A) Gabriel Rodriguez
The acclaimed comic that is on its way to being a Fox television series is now yours for free! This special issue presents a 26-page story by creators Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez that sees the Locke family and their wondrous Keyhouse mansion beset on all sides by shdowy threats. The malevolent spirit Dodge continues his relentless quest to find the key to the black door, and raises an army of shadows to wipe out anyone who might get in his way. Surrounded and outnumbered, the Locke children find themselves fighting a desperate battle, all alone, in a world where the night itself has become their enemy.
BONUS REVIEW by SHANNA BERRY

Every month I look forward to reading the next issue of Locke & Key! It's like nothing I've ever read. Magic keys and kids aren't two things I usually look for in a comic, but Locke & Key is something special. This FREE COMIC BOOK DAY edition takes place pretty far along in the story, but is the perfect book to get you hooked. Everything you need to know is outlined on the first page: What is Locke & Key and who are the key characters. But I'll sum it up for you here: three siblings have been uprooted after the murder of their father, and now reside in Keyhouse, "home to the world's most astonishing keys". Some keys we have seen in action, some remain hidden in the dark corners of the house. But there is a dark presence searching for a special key, one that could change the world forever. It's up to these three kids to fend off the dark forces, while desperately holding together the remains of their family. This issue is appropriate for all ages, but beware: this series is NOT intended for kids.
