"So, it’s like this: if you dig Juan Doe’s super-stylized artwork (think Jay Stephens or Darwyn Cooke meets Photoshop), you’ll dig this Puerto Rican adventure with the FF. But if you don’t dig the art, there’s not much here for you. What starts as a fairly interesting and low-key take on the familial aspects of the FF becomes far too generic once the villain of the piece shows up, and doesn’t really get its rhythm back ‘til the last few pages. If writer Tom Beland had been able to just sticking to his strengths (interpersonal drama, Puerto Rico) rather than ‘superheroing up’ this story, it’d be easier to recommend unreservedly. As it is, though, this is really one to grab for the art alone."
