 The ever dependable Jeff Lemire presents an apocalypse story that manages to feel fresh out of the gate, and unlike a whole lot of Image #1's, this book isn't taking four issues to explain the beginning of the end of the world. The art by Phil Hester may resemble Mike Mignola on meth, but it certainly doesn't detract from the basic tale of a parent faced with an absolutely insane problem. Highly recommended for fans of Groot, those who choose real over artificial, and druids. I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
