(A/CA) Eddy Barrows, Eber Ferreira
'Clay'! Here it is: the shocking, heartbreaking origin of Clayface, including his first conflict with Batman! Actor Basil Karlo was on the cusp of fame and fortune...the kind he had dreamed of through his painful childhood...until a accident robbed him of the good looks that took him to the top. But scars don't make you a monster-only the darkness in your heart can do that-and in the wake of the accident, Karlo's darkness is revealed! RATED T

James Tynion IV, sadly pale from a sunlight deficiency caused by living in the shadow of Tom King, manages to do for Clayface what King did for Kite Man. The one-two punch of last weeks Detective and this weeks Det. annual have elevated the character into the top ten list of Batman villains. or not. Highly recommended for those looking for Dark Nights Metal counter programming, fans of the films Dread Castle, Second Skin and Ghost, and even little Timmy Crookshaw (creator of the character KilnChest) who was finally able to just let it go.

I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
