Damian Son of Batman #1

VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
(W/A/CA) Andy Kubert
Damian Wayne, the son of Batman, has adopted the cape and cowl as his own…but what horrific events set this troubled hero on the path of his dark destiny? The story of Damian Wayne begins in this epic miniseries written and drawn by one of Damian's co-creators, Andy Kubert!
Date Available: 10/30/2013
BONUS REVIEW by Allie Alleman

Customers were asking about this book months before it hit the shelves, so its arrival was highly anticipated by hordes of Robin fans. And, as the equally devoted Joker fans found in his villains month issue, Andy Kubert is a wonderful and well-respected artist for a reason. The art in Damian is everything a Batman book should be; explosive, modestly disturbing, and true to the Gotham world. However, Kubert’s writing is generally a confusing and disappointing experience. The details of where and when the story takes place are a mystery, and the death of Batman, dealing with the death of Batman, and supposed return of Batman story was worn out after six months of dealing with Damian’s death in all the Bat books. All canons and logic aside, there is a chance Kubert will do something more interesting with Damian than being a prick to Alfred and sulking (like father, like son). This issue, however, is not promising for America’s favorite psychopathic brat.

I give it 4 out of 10 Grahams
