As a long time heavy metal, death metal, black metal, etc. metal, and Brian Azzarello fan this book sounded like it was tailor made for me. Last issue was a lot like deciphering a new death metal band logo. It is supposed to say Creeping Below because that is the band name but the calligraphy and font are very hard to interpret into letters. This issue is no better but does slightly move thing along. 7 years along actually. Our "hero/ protagonist/ victim" Val wakes up after being murdered 7 years ago. And starts the search for answers as to why she is "alive". Chop full of mean, unlikable characters and enough black ink that just trying to follow the panel layout is again like a death metal band logo. Hard and not necessarily worth the effort. The elevator pitch is The Crow by way of Norwegian Death Metal. And that is 99% what this is. I think. Maybe if I relax and cross my eyes I will see it.
