This issue is perfectly fine. I guess. The art is terrific as always but I won't be reading the next issue because I thought the "big shock" was already a thing decades ago. Guess not? The gatefold pullout seems unnecessary and certain outlets calling this the "definitive origin" might need a new dictionary.
I mainly am disappointed that Matt only waited 7 issues to bring his Joker in, seems kinda like a green eyed monster came in and absolutely bashed him on the head. I absolutely am shocked Bane is not in this issue too. I guarantee you the Nolan Batman movies would have been even better if he saved the Joker for the third installment. Hopefully you enjoy this issue more than I did. If you want make sure you get issue #8 I would join our free comic club and ask for it asap.
