I hate to keep harping but Kurt Busiek knows how to write a damn good story. The fictional biography of Ned Carroway is hauntingly tragic and wonderfully good-natured. I could babble for paragraphs about childhood traumas and the costs of a fantasy life but I would be able to do it justice. Read the book, it does a much better job.
