The Anti-Life Equation has infected Gotham City, turning friend, foe and family into mindless slaves of Darkseid, and the might of the Spear of Destiny has left The Spectre powerless. Can The Question find the answer to restoring hope inside the one being capable of saving the world?

REVIEW by Brian Fisher

When last I reviewed this title I was on the cusp of declaring Revelations the best Final Crisis tie-in. Here, now, I officially deem this the single best thing to spin out of DC’s universe-spanning crossover. Better even than the main title itself. This is one hell of a book. While the artwork at times is inconsistent the writing is spot-on. Greg Rucka has outdone himself, which is no easy task. He’s infused this book with a grand scope, but at the same time an intimate feel, focusing this worldwide disaster through the eyes of its three main characters, Renee Montoya, the Question; the Spectre; and the Radiant. The duality of the Spectre, representing God’s vengeance and the Radiant, representing God’s mercy works well, playing despair off of faith. It’s really powerful storytelling and I just wish that Final Crisis proper were as thought provoking.
I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
