The Sorcerer’s apprentice has his own book, and this issue ends a lengthy epic that has Mickey and other magicians in a tournament to see who’s best. Some bullet points: it is Disney, it has Mickey in a magic duel, Goofy being the quiet genius in the background, Donald being Donald, and it just tries to be a fun, easy read for kids. As to how adults would view the issue, well…I admit I would like more of an edge on Mickey’s teacher, the story is wrapped up somewhat abruptly, I wanted more on-the-edge-of-my-seat theatrics that Disney is known to have, yet, still, the story ends in sparks, and the 2nd, back-up story has an entertaining, old school charm. A good, concluding issue, I guess, and you get some of what you expect.
